Our take

Official MCP server from Aiven's open-source org for their managed cloud data platform, and unusually operations-minded: a hosted remote at mcp.aiven.live with OAuth plus a local TypeScript build (mcp-aiven on npm, Docker supported), a ?read_only=true mode that strips all write tools, and ?services_scope= filtering (pg, kafka, application, integrations) to keep the agent's tool surface small. It can provision, modify, and delete real infrastructure — Postgres services, Kafka topics, deployed apps — and the README leads with an unusually frank warning that agents may take destructive actions, bounded by your Aiven user's permissions. Apache-2.0, 9 contributors, active release cadence (v1.13.0, pushed July 2026), modest adoption at ~260 npm downloads/week and 24 stars, and only useful if you are an Aiven customer since everything targets their API. For Aiven shops that want agents managing data infrastructure — start with read-only plus scoped tools before granting write access.
