Our take

Thin MCP client for AgentPhone, a commercial telephony SaaS: agents can buy US/CA phone numbers, send and receive SMS, place AI-voiced outbound calls, and configure per-agent voices, webhooks, and usage — via the hosted endpoint at mcp.agentphone.ai, a local npx stdio server, or a self-hosted HTTP deployment. Everything requires an agentphone.ai account with an API key or OAuth, and the actual functionality lives behind the paid API, so the MIT repo is mostly plumbing. Two-person team, launched February 2026, actively pushed, modest adoption (~250 npm downloads/week). For builders who want agents with real phone lines and accept a metered provider; letting an agent purchase numbers and place calls deserves tight permissioning.
