Our take

Converts LaTeX math into Unicode text art that can survive in terminals, comments, or plain-text messages. It is for users who need readable math in environments where rendered equations are unavailable. The concept is narrow but concrete, and the limited scope is a positive for maintainability so long as users accept the formatting tradeoffs inherent in Unicode-only output.
