Our take
Margins is a local-first notes MCP for Obsidian or Markdown folders: search, read, stage write proposals, and compile raw sources into draft pages. The safety model is better than a raw filesystem bridge because writes go through a proposed/ review folder before acceptance. Its installer does write host config, but only through an explicit interactive install flow, and it includes telemetry prompts that privacy-sensitive users should notice.
