Our take

shell-use is a shell-access MCP server intended to let agents operate the command line in a more human-like way. It is for local automation and coding workflows where an assistant needs direct terminal interaction rather than higher-level abstractions. This is inherently high-trust software, so the main caution is safety and permission design; the registry metadata does not yet show strong maturity or broad adoption.
