Our take
A single-tool micro-server that reads an image from a file path and returns it as inline base64 so it renders in chat — about 100 lines, does exactly what it says, only dependency is the MCP SDK. The packaging is alarmingly sloppy, though: the published tarball ships the author's own MCP-registry JWT and GitHub token plus an 18 MB mcp-publisher.exe that has no business being there. Nothing in it harms users, but that level of hygiene from the maintainer — and no updates since January — means treat it as a throwaway utility, not maintained software.
