Our take

Small local document-conversion server for DOCX/PDF to Markdown and Markdown to DOCX. The implementation is real Python code using python-docx, pdfplumber/PyMuPDF, and pandoc for the reverse path, so it is more useful than a thin shell around one command. Caveat: Markdown to DOCX depends on pandoc being installed, and the styling choices are opinionated toward Times New Roman/SimSun academic documents.
