Our take

Docdex appears to be a functional local documentation/code indexer, but the npm package crosses the installer line. Its postinstall downloads and sets up Docdex, starts or configures a daemon, writes MCP entries into many client configs including Codex, and applies agent instruction files under the user's home directory without a clear consent gate. That matches the self-propagating installer pattern used for flags in this index.
