Our take

Desktop Touch is an ambitious Windows computer-use server with UI Automation, screenshots, Chrome CDP, keyboard/mouse control, terminal tools, and guardrails around actions. The npm launcher does fetch a matching GitHub release runtime, but it pins the release tag and verifies SHA256 before extraction, which is the clean version of that packaging pattern. The surface is powerful and inherently sensitive, so it belongs in hands that understand local desktop automation risk.
