The Apple Mail server to pick if you have a big mailbox: it builds its own FTS5 full-text index over message bodies instead of shelling out to AppleScript, which is exactly why the AppleScript-based alternatives time out where this one doesn't. Well-maintained (19 releases, docs site, changelog) with the healthiest organic community in this batch. macOS-only by nature, and the index build needs Full Disk Access for your terminal — a real permission grant, clearly documented.
