Our take

Mature third-party Outline server with search, document reads, edits, collections, comments, batch operations, caching, and read-only/disable-delete controls. The author now points users to Outline's official MCP server first, which is the right default for most teams. This remains useful for self-hosted or advanced setups that need the extra controls and Python/Docker deployment options.
